LA FERIA--A street in La Feria is now named after a fallen border patrol agent.
Javier Vega Junior was killed defending his family from two armed men attempting to rob them while fishing near a canal in Willacy County in 2014.
City commissioners unanimously voted to rename Fifth street Javier Vega Jr. street.
City officials said this is the street vega grew up on and where he still has close family and friends.
The two mexican nationals charged in Vega's death are awaiting trial.
