SULLIVAN CITY – Sullivan City police is set to install laptops inside units to help in investigations.

The department says a lack of technology causes a barrier of safety for officers and the public.

“Whether it’s kidnapping, for certain vehicles or it’s a vehicle wanted in a drive-by shooting – and without having a mobile laptop with us – our dispatcher will have to rely or at least advise us of it,” says Sullivan City Police Officer Joshua Rodriguez, “and sometimes they’re busy with other things.”

He explains the devices will have GPS and will help track the officers, too.
