Texas AG Issues Consumer Alert Against Fake Contractors
WESLACO – The State Attorney General says to be on guard against fake contractors.
The warning comes after tornadoes hit the Dallas-Fort Worth area over the weekend.
“Unfortunately, disasters like the devastating storms last night can attract bad actors aiming to exploit Texans still reeling from damage or destruction of their property. While rebuilding, I encourage all those impacted to beware of unreliable contractors who fail to perform work they were paid to do,” Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement.
Call the Consumer Protection Hotline at 800-621-0508 to report any suspicious or fraudulent activity, or file a complaint online at the AG’s website here.
