The Salvation Army is moving forward with facilities upgrades at their McAllen campus.

Officials say they hope the new look of the Salvation Army makes their clients feel like they're at home, especially during a time of need.

"We don't want to look institutional," Captain Adolph Aguirre of the Salvation Army in McAllen said. "We want everybody to feel, at the time that they have a need, feel like they are going somewhere that's not a contrast to their home."

Areas in the front of the building's facade with leaks and holes are now repaired, and the design is nearly complete.
