MISSION – U.S. Marshals are searching for a fugitive who escaped after an encounter with law enforcement in a public parking lot.

Marshals spokesperson Juan Lara said U.S. Marshals tracked the fugitive to the Sharyland Towne Crossing Shopping Center around noon on Tuesday.

When Marshals tried to approach the suspect, he drove aggressively towards the agent.

A U.S. Marshal fired his service weapon at the man, who drove away and escaped. No one was injured.

Stores in the area went on business as usual.

Authorities haven’t released any information about the fugitive or the vehicle he was driving.
