SANTA ROSA – A local food bank is working with volunteer groups to bring relief to those affected by the recent floodwaters.

A hotline was set up for Rio Grande Valley residents who may qualify for assistance. Volunteers will clean or remove parts of a home that are too damaged.

A Santa Rosa man says what’s left of his belongings sit in a pile on his front porch while he waits for help to clean up.

KRGV’s Daisy Martinez spoke to the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. The group says only those that had water inside their homes will be considered for help.

The number to call is 1-800-451-1954 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The last day to call is Friday, July 20.
