WESLACO – Local firefighters are warning people about lighting fireworks to celebrate Fourth of July.

The Weslaco Fire Department says a quick distraction can be dangerous for those celebrating with family.

If you plan to pop fireworks, don’t do it in dry grassy areas or near debris. They say a fire could spread quickly in these conditions.
