BROWNSVILLE – A Brownsville kickball coach has been sentenced to seven years in jail after she pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault of a child.

Claudia Guerra, 33, waived her right to a jury trial.

According to court records, she picked up a 14-year-old student at Porter High School and took her into Mexico without her parents’ consent.

Guerra will also be required to register as a sex offender.

She’ll get credit for the time she’s already served behind bars.
