A significant power outage is causing classes to be canceled at Weslaco East High School, the district announced.

Classes at the campus are cancelled on Friday, Oct. 3, and will resume on Monday, Oct. 6.

While classes are cancelled, staff will still report to the main gymnasium at their assigned reporting times. Varsity athletics will resume in the afternoon, with the football team reporting at 10:00 a.m. for their game in Corpus Christi, the district said.

Cancellation is for Weslaco East High School only, all other schools will have classes at their regular scheduled times.
