DPS conducting random inspections at ports of entry
The Texas Department of Public Safety announced troopers will conduct “enhanced” cargo inspections at international ports of entry.
The inspections, which were announced Tuesday on social media, will be done at ports of entries that were chosen at random.
In April, Government Greg Abbott announced similar safety inspections to stop the flow of drugs and migrants into the state.
The inspections lasted for about a week, costing the state a loss of $4.2 billion in trade, and did not lead to a decrease in drugs or migrants.
