The 58-year-old manager of an Edinburg daycare was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence on Monday, a city spokesperson confirmed to Channel 5 News.

Alma Enriquez Garza is the manager of Grandma’s Daycare, located in the 5500 block of S. Sugar Road.

The daycare is linked to an investigation after the Edinburg Police Department said a Grandma’s Daycare employee was seen on surveillance footage striking a 1-year-old boy in the face.

Hidalgo County jail records show Garza was released on a $15,000 bond on Monday.
