A former Palmview police dispatcher was found guilty of manslaughter and evading arrest causing death.

Investigators say Jacobo Rivera slammed a vehicle into a concrete pillar, killing his passenger, two years ago.

Authorities say a state trooper was trying to stop him from speeding when the crash happened.

Hidalgo County court records show Rivera was found not guilty on a felony murder charge.

He was sentenced to 15 years.
