GAO Reports VA Whistleblowers More Likely to Face Disciplinary Action
WESLACO – A congressional watchdog report found whistleblowers in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are more likely to be disciplined after reporting an incident.
The U.S. Government Accountability Office reports whistleblowers are 10 times more likely to face disciplinary actions than their colleagues.
Several problems were identified in the report, which sampled whistleblowing cases.
The issues included undocumented cases, as well as a lack of oversight in the VA among others.
