A family in La Feria is leaning on their faith and each other after losing everything in a Tuesday fire.

The mobile home of Leticia Galvan and George Muñoz on FM 506 and Tio Cano Lake Cross Road was reduced to ash and rubble following the fire.

“It’s gonna be hard to start all over again… it’s not gonna happen overnight,” Galvan said. “I just wish it was a bad dream."

The homeowners had lived at the home for 20 years. They were both at work when the fire happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Their daughter, who was home when the fire started, called them.

“When I was pulling up, I could hear my propane tank exploding – the neighbors two miles away could hear it,” Galvan said.

It took fire crews from La Feria, Harlingen and Santa Rosa several hours to contain the fire.

All five family members and their pets are safe. Now, they're trying to figure out what's next.

“I just don’t know what tomorrow’s gonna bring. I don’t have a house now, I don't have enough money either,” Galvan said.

“We have each other,” Muñoz said.

The Cameron County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

The family is staying at a hotel with help from family and friends.

A GoFundMe was set up to help the family recover from the fire. You can donate to it here.
