Loved Ones of Nahomi Rodriguez Say Goodbye
SAN BENITO - The family and friends on Nahomi Rodriguez gathered to pay their respects, three weeks after her remains were discovered near a Rio Hondo canal.
Loved ones filled a San Benito church to remember the 19-year-old and to celebrate her life.
"We're having a lot of response from the community, people that we don't even know," said Enedina Sanchez. The woman, who was Rodriguez's aunt, served as the family's spokesperson during Nahomi's disappearance. "They're sending roses and their prayers. We're extremely thankful, but above everything...is to give thanks to God for having lent us Nahomi for 19 years."
Sanchez says investigators have informed them there are no new developments in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Harlingen Police Department.
