A 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting in the parking lot of a Golden Corral, according to the Brownsville Police Department.

William Lleo was arrested Wednesday at around 9:10 p.m. and arraigned on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana in connection with the investigation. A Golden Corral employee was injured in the assault.

Police responded to the assault in the 4500 block of N. Expressway after an employee reported that he was in the rear parking lot loading his vehicle when an unknown man approached him with a firearm. The two got into a physical fight and a shot was fired. No one was hit by the gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found the employee with visible facial injuries. The suspect, identified as Lleo, had already left the scene.

Officers searched the area and found the suspect near a McDonald's and Academy Sports and Outdoors.

Bond for Lleo was set at $52,000.
