PHARR – A Rio Grande Valley security company is increasing its own safety measures after a series of thefts at the business.

The owner of South Star Security, Johnny Ayala, tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS his surveillance cameras caught the illegal act.

He says three suspects attempted to steal his golf cart, unsuccessfully. The individuals left for a couple of minutes but returned.

This time, Ayala says they damaged his cameras and managed to take batteries from underneath the seat of the golf buggy.

Ayala says he filed a police report. He hopes the suspects can be identified so he can focus on protecting others.
