Police Say 2nd Suspect in Bank Robbery Investigation Arrested

UPDATE (4:00 P.M.): Police arrested a second suspect wanted for a robbery at the IBC Bank in Edinburg. 

According to Edinburg Police Chief David White, a 27-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Donna. 

He was detained without incident.

EDINBURG – One person is in custody and two others are on the run following a bank robbery in Edinburg.

Edinburg police say a man entered the IBC Bank on Jackson Road and University Drive Wednesday morning and demanded money from a teller.

The 27-year-old made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A second suspect waiting outside the bank for Escalona was arrested shortly after.

Escalona is wanted for a previous offense and is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities are looking for another person of interest in connection with the bank robbery.
