Reports of gunman at Boggus Stadium were false, Harlingen police say
Harlingen police have confirmed that reports of a gunman at Boggus Stadium were false, according to Harlingen Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Larry Moore.
Police received calls about a person with a gun at around 10:16 p.m. on Friday following the Bird Bowl when the Harlingen South Hawks played against the Harlingen Cardinals.
A shelter in place was issued at the stadium but was shortly lifted.
Moore said officers working the game looked into the reports but found no witnesses or evidence of any crime and determined the information was false.
