SANTA ROSA – A Santa Rosa community meeting was held Wednesday regarding Western Cameron County flooding.

The meeting was held on private property, so our CHANNEL 5 NEWS team had to leave when asked.

Martin Silva and other residents asked Judge Eddie Treviño and Commissioner Gus Ruiz about the county's plans for flood restoration and prevention.

We asked Commissioner Ruiz if he requested the media not be present during the meeting

"It's not our meeting," he said.

Residents tell us they were asked to put their phones away and not record.

Some residents say the county is not feeling the urgency to take immediate action to help.
