Software Glitch on FaceTime Causing Security Issues
WESLACO – Tech experts say a software glitch is allowing some callers to listen-in on iPhone users before the person answers or rejects the call.
KRGV’s Chief Engineer Michael Leal spoke about the issue.
"Once you receive the call, you've already been exposed as vulnerability. So as the end user, there's not a lot you can do except to kill the FaceTime app," he says.
The FaceTime application can be disabled by opening settings, finding the FaceTime option, and clicking off on the green tick box.
A spokesperson for Apple says a software update to correct the issue should be out later in the week.
