MCALLEN – People all over the country are already heading to the airport or hitting the highways to get to their Thanksgiving destination.

Some Rio Grande Valley residents say they're choosing to take the bus. Even if it takes a little longer, Juan Hernandez says it's about feeling relaxed.

"Since it's just my wife and we didn't want to worry about traffic and all that. Here we can just rest," says Hernandez.

But he's not the only one taking the bus.

According to the transit operations manager for the city of McAllen, the holidays are one of the busiest times at the McAllen bus terminal.
