Schwartz was on the Harligen High School Cardinals Baseball Team. The district and friends and family of Schartz gathered Saturday evening at the Harlingen Cardinals’ Ballpark for a vigil.

Teammates and relatives lit candles and talked about Scwartz during the vigil. A memorial was placed in his honor on the pitchers’ mound.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is still looking for the person who hit Schwartz. They believe the driver was behind the wheel of a Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 or F-550 pickup truck.
