LAGUNA VISTA – Decorating fabrics with needlework is an ancient art form and one Rio Grande Valley group is working to keep that art form alive.

It's called embroidery, but not by machines, a group of Valley ladies prefer doing it by hand, stitch by single stitch.

"I'm a retired administrator and my sister said you need a hobby. So, I decided stitching, small pillow cases and things like that," says Tricia Munal, president of Tip of Texas Guild of America.

Because it's the group's 25th anniversary, they decided each would take on map making.
