Jury Selection Underway in 2015 Murder Case
EDINBURG – Jury selection in a high-profile capital murder case is now underway.
Monica Melissa Patterson is charged with capital murder.
In 2015, she and Angel Mario Garza were accused of killing 96-year-old Martin Knell.
A criminal complaint revealed Patterson and Garza told Knell’s caretaker to lie to authorities on what happened moments before Knell was found dead.
More than 250 potential jurors were called in.
Officials said a larger pool creates a better chance of finding unbiased and eligible jurors.
