Three people are recovering after a three-vehicle crash in McAllen.

It happened Saturday afternoon on Mile 3 North and Ware Road.

McAllen Fire officials say a person suspected to be the cause of the crash tried to flee the scene, but was detained by bystanders until police arrived.

The suspect was taken into custody.

The victims were taken to the hospital.

The extent of their injuries is unknown.
