WESLACO - He ran for Mission's fallen police officer earlier this year.

Now a 10-year-old is running for State Trooper Moises Sanchez.

Zechariah Cartledge ran his 216th mile on Monday night.

A tribute to State Trooper Moises Sanchez.

This is Zechariah's second honor run for a fallen hero from the Rio Grande Valley.

Zechariah runs in Florida.

He runs a mile every time a first responder loses their life in the line of duty.

We shared another run of his two months ago for Mission police officer  Jose “Speedy” Espericueta.

Zechariah wears the Texas State Trooper patch proudly.

He's going to send a piece of his run back to Sanchez's family.

"To the family, I'll be sending you this flag in his honor. Hopefully that you'll heal in this hard time of sorrow," he says.
