Special Ceremony Honors Victims of Alton Bus Accident
ALTON – On Friday a special ceremony was held to remember the 21 lives lost in what is known at the worst school bus accident in Texas history.
Saturday marks the 30 anniversary of the Alton school bus accident.
21 student's died after their bus was hit by a Dr. Pepper truck, sending the bus crashing down into a water filled caliche pit.
The ceremony was held Alton Memorial Junior High School in Alton which was named in honor of the victims.
