'We need help': Indian Hills neighborhood underwater after Wednesday storm
As heavy rain, lightning and wind rolled through the Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday, the Indian Hills community in Mercedes is dealing with flooding once again.
Indian Hill’s resident Berta Carrezalles says every time it rains, her neighborhood floods, and she’s not alone. Resident Juanita Murillo said it’s not just heavy rainfall, “any little rain, [and] the entrance is flooded.”
Several residents in Indian Hills are calling on Hidalgo County officials to create a plan to address the issue.
“We are active voters,” Murillo said. “We need help. We need help because it’s bad.”
Residents say they want to live without worrying about their homes flooding when it rains.
