Alamo Police Explain Importance of Training in Life-Threatening Situations
ALMAO – The Texas Rangers are looking into a second officer-involved shooting.
Police investigators say de-escalating a situation is the most important thing to do because the last thing an officer wants to do is take someone’s life.
Alamo police investigator Lopez says the most important training officers receive for dealing with a high-pressure situation is verbal.
"As long as they aren't hurting themselves or hurting anybody let them vent," says Lopez.
Lopez says an officer never wants to take someone’s life, but in a life threatening situation their job is to make sure everyone is safe.
