RAYMONDVILLE – As most people prepare for a big Thanksgiving meal, one group works to educate people on how to eat healthily.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offers their Healthy South Texas cooking sessions on almost all Rio Grande Valley counties.

One session in Willacy County was aimed at people who have diabetes. The group listens, takes notes and is also invited to participate.

“To learn how to manage their diabetes through eating healthier and doing some basic changes that will prolong their life,” explains Perla Flores with AgriLife Extension.

KRGV’s Rick Diaz has more.
