A former Weslaco city commissioner previously convicted of lying under oath will be sentenced in November.

David Fox pleaded guilty to the perjury charge on Oct. 2019 after he admitted to lying about receiving at least $2,000 in bribes, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Sentencing for Fox is set for Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Fox was charged following a Nov. 2018 grand jury proceeding where he denied receiving any bribes to influence his vote in connection with the Weslaco wastewater treatment plant project.
